I stumbled on this site - someone shared it - and I was positively giddy! I know how hard it is at times to come up with writing prompts or questions for inquiry lessons or just something for students to read of interest. Wonderopolis is packed with all of this!
There is a new "wonder" each day and I think these would be wonderful journal prompts or possibly "rabbit holes" for students to travel down. The articles that go along with them also provide some basic research as well as a layer of vocab, curiosity, suggestions of going further, and so much more!
This is DEFINITELY something to use in your classroom on a regular basis. Microsoft's Immersive Reader is also built in, so it's accessible for readers of all levels.
