The goo.gl URL shortener is the very first extension I feel in love with. We had one cart of iPads to share in our building and I was excited to use them to turn my paper quizzes into digital assessments. My students LOVED them! The goo.gl URL shortener allowed me to create a manageable URL &/or a QR code to easily find the quiz. I was in HEAVEN!
Now, it's is going away. Boo!!! Reading the article from Google above helps you understand. BUT ... there are plenty of other good ones to take it's place.
